Editing
Anyone can write a book, but that doesn’t mean everyone is an excellent writer. Your work should be edited multiple times, and there are different types and levels of editing to consider. The first step in getting your book on the shelves is to ensure your manuscript is clean, clear, concise, polished, easy to read and error-free. An editing must? A copy edit for spelling and grammar is a non-negotiable.
Editing rates are custom and based on type, writing level and overall word count.
Think of typesetting as interior decorating for your book's pages – it's the art of arranging text and images to create a professional, easy-to-read layout that won't make your readers' eyes scream for mercy. Without it, your awesome story could end up looking like a janky Word document with random spacing, inconsistent fonts, and text that plays hide-and-seek around your images. Good typesetting is what transforms your manuscript from "meh" to "wow, this looks legit!" and helps meet those picky printing requirements that make your book look like it belongs on a Barnes & Noble shelf.

Your book’s cover design is what makes readers take action. (Actions speak louder than words, after all…) People judge book covers. I know, I know — we aren’t supposed to do that. While you may be cool waitin’ round until the masses stop judging books by their covers, I’ll be over here crafting a unique, meaningful, on-brand and eye-catching cover that will stop the right reader dead in their tracks (er, in their scroll.) Cover design includes the fonts, colours, imagery, alignment, visibility, messaging, and reformatting for all file types required (paperback, ebook, hardcover, etc.).
Marketing / Design
The first step is to get your book written. Then, we need to complete all the steps above in order to transform your dusty manuscript into a polished finished product. And then…what? Do you forget you ever published that thing? Wait around twiddling your thumbs until the New York Times calls you to ask if you wouldn’t mind being on their bestseller list? Cross your fingers and hope thousands of people stumble upon your work? NEWP. In order for your work to make an impact, you need to make an impact on your marketing. This can include a blend of both traditional and digital marketing efforts, but a custom plan should be put in place based on your current level of marketing experience. All authors become their own marketing managers (and we can help you figure out how to create your plan!)

Speaking of marketing, creating your own “corner of the internet” will be an important piece of your overall brand as an author-preneur. Readers need a place to find out more about you, should they fall in love with your work. This includes social profiles, a website or landing page, marketing materials for in person venues or communities, and crafting your author brand messaging so you can insert yourself in the right places that make sense for you and your book. We can help with website or landing page design, social media content, marketing materials, custom merchandise, and more.
